A bit about Noor Threads

FROM THE RIVER, TO THE SEA.

Hi, I'm Amanda, founder of Noor Threads. I started this project as an attempt to replace my doom-scrolling with something more tangible and to find a meaningful way to support families I'd come to know in Palestine.

Most garments are sewn by me at night once the kids are asleep. I'm supported by a couple of wonderful women (Kimberley, Kate, Kim and Ruby) who help me sew in their spare time, and I occasionally run sewing bees where volunteers come together to create pieces for Noor Threads.

Every garment is one of a kind, made from second-hand blankets, tablecloths, and remnant fabric. Buyers are sent a link to a family in Gaza, and they donate 100% of the sale directly to the family's campaign. I'm reimbursed for any postage fees.

What began as a desperate attempt to donate more than I could personally afford has evolved into something so much bigger. The community this project has gathered, and the collective impact we've had on the families we support, is greater than I ever imagined.

To everyone who has shared, donated, and supported this project — from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Have a wool blanket you’d like to donate?

The project relies on donations. If you have a 100% wool blanket (or linen / cotton tablecloth) you’d like to donate to the project, take some pictures and reach out via email.
